Meet Our President & Founder
Bill Hadded Jr. – In late 2016, I found myself in a very bad place. Even though I had good job, a new home, and a beautiful family ; I was unhappy.
Even though I had a successful career up to that point, my work had grown stagnant, I felt as though I was just going through the motions and putting in time. My wife and I didn’t really see each other much because one of us was always working to make ends meet. While he was a happy and infectious toddler, Liam had yet to be diagnosed with ASD and we were growing concerned with delays in his development. He constantly needed to be cared for which made it hard on our other two boys, Lucas and Maddex.
Burnt out and frustrated, I withdrew back into myself and blocked out the world around me. I could no longer hear Liam’s Laughter. I couldn’t hear anything… [ Read More ]
Meet our Vice President
Karen Ellis – Karen Ellis is a Relationship Development Manager for SECNY Federal Credit Union. Her role is to partner with local businesses and organizations to spread awareness about the credit union and to create mutually benefitting partnerships in the communities that SECNY FCU serves. Teaching financial education and helping others achieve financial success is personally rewarding to her. Focusing on building strong relationships has helped her achieve success in Business Development. She has worked in the Credit Union Industry for almost seven years now and is lucky to say she has finally found her “calling” in her professional career. Unsure what she wanted to do after graduating from High School Karen found herself in the Retail Sector. At 18 years old she became the youngest store Manager in company history for the Nine West Corporation. There she learned the ins and outs of running a store, making sales goals, and managing and working with people from many different backgrounds and walks of life. This was the start of her successful Retail Management Career of twenty years. She worked for several companies in Executive Management roles; such as Lord & Taylor and Target Corporation where she learned her two strongest skills, communication and relationship building. After having her first child she realized that the long hours of retail would not allow her to be the mother she wanted to be. She left retail and went back to College and graduated from Onondaga Community College with her Associates Degree in 2006, where she became interested in the credit union movement. Karen is wife to her high school sweetheart Jon who is a physical education teacher and coach at Marcellus Central School District, mother to Bailey who is 13 years old, Brady who is 11 years old, and fur baby’s Maggie and Leo. When she is not spending time with her family, watching her kids sporting events, and running them to their social gatherings, Karen enjoys hiking, decorating, shopping, skiing, and reading.
Meet our Secretary
Bobby Richie – Bobby grew up in the city of Rome, NY and explored many types of jobs (including radio sales, airplane mechanic, and worked for FoxTV) before finding his career in hospitality. Bobby has worked 12 ½ years in the restaurant industry in various roles such as bartender, server, key employee and training staff to help open up 5 new restaurants. He moved into the Hotel industry in 2012, where he has advanced his career path in 5 years to become the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Craftsman Inn & Suites in Fayetteville, NY. He has two kids 13 and 12 (Bobby and Alexandria) who kept him grounded to the area. They enjoy board games and exploring hiking trails. Bobby was instilled at a young age from his grandmother’s the importance of family and friends. He came to the Craftsman to reconnect the hotel and restaurant to the community and help in every aspect of one’s life and make some life-long connections along the way.
Meet our Tresurer
Gail Iskander – Gail is a native of Central New York who has worked in the service industry for over 30 years. She is the mother of 3, grandmother of 5, and spends most weekends with some or all of them. Although not an artist by trade, she is one at heart, often using her creative talent for charitable causes.
Gail and her husband Tim believe in the importance of community and giving back. Never is that more apparent than on Halloween when they fill their garage and driveway with video games, give away hundreds of stuffed animals and serve gallons of hot cocoa. When they started their Haunted Arcade more than a decade ago, they had no idea how well the Fayetteville community would embrace it. Throughout the year neighbors, including many children, show up at their door holding bags of stuffed animals and toys they wish to donate. During October, it is not uncommon for neighbors to stop by offering help setting up. It gives Gail and Tim great joy to be part of an event that inspires such community spirit and generosity.
Gail grew up with a brother with special needs. He was her inspiration. In him she saw first hand that when you give, you receive. That although a person with special needs requires extra care, and presents challenges, the love, the light, the joy they bring to your life, is like no other. She hopes her work with Liam’s Laughter will provide parents with a little time away from the care and challenges, so they can have more time in the love, light and joy.
